Capitol Hill Mail Service Interrupted

My Washington, D.C. office is now open and we can receive faxed material and telephone calls, however we are not receiving postal mail. Please direct postal mail to one of our Maine offices and they will forward the information to Washington, D.C. Thank you.

When Mail is Resumed, The Path a Letter Must Currently Follow To Reach Senator Snowe In Washington:

  1. Sent from a constituent to Senator Snowe

  2. Arrives at processing unit in Virginia (2-4 days)

  3. Forwarded to Lima, Ohio, for irradiation procedures (10-14 days)

  4. Forwarded to another processing unit where all non-paper contents are removed and tested (7-10 days)

  5. If mail clears the 7-10 day waiting period for test results, it is then sorted and delivered to individual Senate offices.
