WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME) today announced that Nichols Custom Welding, Inc. of Wilton has received an Army contract for $3,076,989. Nichols Custom Welding, Inc. will make 216 trailers with English/Arabic operator manuals and a spare parts package for the Iraqi Supplemental Acquisition Military Program. The estimated date of completion is September 28, 2009.

“I am thrilled that the Army has recognized the superiority of Maine workers by awarding this contract to Nichols Custom Welding,” said Snowe. “Nichols has a proven track record of producing high quality goods. The Army could not have chosen a better company to do this work for them. I am also proud that a Maine business will be contributing so substantially to our country’s ongoing efforts in Iraq.”
